CHICAGO TOUR AND PIZZA PARTY

We departed from the Holiday Inn Select via deluxe motor coach (okay, it was a big yellow school bus) at 11:45.  After a  tour of Chicago's famous Loop district the bus dropped us off on Chicago's famed Michigan Avenue where we boarded a Wendella boat for a combined ninety minute Chicago River and Lake Michigan tour.

Our tour included live narration of Chicago architecture and history.

Our tour took us through the Chicago River Lock into Lake Michigan for a breathtaking view of the Chicago skyline from the lake.

When we arrived back in Naperville, we  enjoyed a pizza party at Lou Malnatti' s Pizzeria. Chicago is famous for inventing Deep Dish Pizza and Lou Malnatti began his career at Pizzeria Uno in the 1940's when this famous pizza was developed. In 1971 Lou and his wife struck out on their own and opened the first Lou Malnatti's. Today the family owned company has 30 locations in the Chicago area. The Naperville restaurant is housed in the original Naperville Fire Station and decorated with various "fire" memorabilia from Naperville's early days.

After dinner the hotel’s shuttle ‘bus made several trips to return all of us to the hotel.
