2012 N.A.T.S. CONVENTION
One to Remember (and enjoy)
It is my distinct pleasure to invite you to the 2012 N.A.T.S. convention in Fredericksburg, V A. Where you say? Well Fredericksburg is located about 60 miles south of Washington DC and 60 miles north of Richmond, VA, just off Interstate 95. It is served by three airports outside DC and one in Richmond. It is served by rail and the Florida-Virginia auto-train ends in Lorton, VA about 30 miles north on 1-95 for Floridians. Nonstop flights are available for our European members. T.P.C.S. folks, if you have ever considered coming to a N.A.T.S. convention, this is the one for you.
You're still stuck on Fredericksburg aren't you? 1 borrow from a city advert: "From the adventurous days of the new world explorers to the devastating days of the Civil War, famous and ordinary travelers have sojourned in our beautiful city. Captain John Smith, George Washington, Thomas Jefferson, James Monroe, Robert E. Lee, Bob Lookabill (just checking to see if you were really reading) and Ulysses S. Grant have all left their indelible marks on the history of the area.
This rich history has given the city of Fredericksburg a downtown area full of genuine historical and architectural treasures. Over 350 original 18th and 19th century buildings, in the city's 40 block National Historic District, reflect some of the most interesting periods in America's past. The vibrant streets are lined with brick sidewalks, ANTIQUE and specialty shops and more than 40 one of a kind restaurants, beautiful private homes and resplendent gardens."
Yet it is not just Fredericksburg. Washington DC is obviously one of the top tourist attractions in the country. Stay a few extra days and see the monuments and Smithsonian Museums. We recently took our grandsons to the new Air and Space Museum by Dulles Airport which is spectacular. The list goes on and on. If you are looking for something a little less hectic, Colonial Williamsburg is about an hour and a half away and it is amazing. Thomas Jefferson's home of Monticello is about an hour away. OK. I'll stop. If you are not sold by now no amount of my talking will convince you. But don't be the person that hears other folks talking about how amazing the 2012 convention was and you missed it.
Let me say one last word to folks who have never attended a convention before. I want to sincerely say that it is a couple of days you will thoroughly enjoy. You will never meet a better, more friendly group of people and the pottery will also have your head swimming. If you only come to one convention in your lifetime, come to this one. If you didn't have a really great time you can blame me. But I don't really worry about that because I know you will love it.
I would be happy to work with you on setting up additional tours and trips as interest dictates. The folks here in our tourism office are fantastic. All you need is the desire and we will make it happen.
